What is the Go Texan Scholarship?
The Go Texan Scholarship is a competitive scholarship awarded to students who are committed to attending a Texas college or university. The scholarship is worth up to $5,000 per year, renewable for up to four years.
All students are eligible, but those who want to apply must plan on attending a Texas university. All applicants must submit their application by December 15. There is no minimum GPA requirement, but successful applicants typically have a 3.0 or higher. Applicants must be a resident of Texas for at least 12 months prior to applying and have demonstrated good citizenship, leadership skills, community involvement, volunteerism and more.

Where do I apply?
The Go Texan Scholarship is available through the Texas Education Agency’s website. The application is open to any graduating senior from a Texas public high school.
To apply, you will need to create an account and login. Once you are logged in, you will see the Apply for Scholarships link on the left-hand side of the screen. Click on that link and then click on the Go Texan Scholarship link.
You will need to fill out some basic information about yourself and your family. After that, you will be asked to write two essays. The first essay is about your educational goals and how the Go Texan Scholarship will help you achieve those goals. The second essay is about your financial need.
